May 11th - Concussion Awareness and Testing

On May 11th Ridge Meadows BMX will be hosting a clinic by Golden Ears Physio Therapy for Information on Concussions and Helmet Safety addressed.
More information can be found at goldenearsphysio.com/services/concussion/.

Baseline testing sessions will be held on a few specific dates at one of Golden Ears clinics.
Baseline Testing Costs organized for the club will be set at
$60 (12 and under athletes)  regular $100
$70 (13 and over athletes)  regular $110
To get the reduced rate, we must attend on the key dates they specify, or organize ourselves in a minimum group of 5 at a time.
Unfortunately the mobile testing was not a possibility due to the loud nature of the outdoor track facility.

Baseline tests are billable under extended health benefits for those families that have Physiotherapy coverage.
The additional $10 fee for 13 and over though is not billable under Physiotherapy services and is a 'product fee' for the additional computer test.

WOW! What a Night - April 14 2015

What a night of Racing!  25 Half Trackers came out in full force to do battle on the 3rd and 4th Straights. So many Happy Little faces pushing and pedaling their way towards candy bag victory.
With 117 Riders showing up to race, and many newcomers we got started a few minutes late, but thank you all for your patience. The evening took another bummer when Mens Cruiser racer Jay Sinclair had an inkling to sample the 3rd straight step-up. Jay is a trooper and WE all wish him a Speedy Recovery. Daughter Emily went on to finish racing with 3 wins to make dad proud.

Lukas Fergusen was looking even Faster on his New Carbon race machine. And to think, those were his first laps on it!!

A few other races we caught with excitement were the Will Hutton, Sebastian Chalmers-Owega and Dexter Winton battles and Carter Horstman, Brody Rotzien making the runs right to the line in the first motos.

Another BIG THANK YOU to all our volunteers for the evening. Without you we can't race, Cheers to you.
All volunteers on Race Night receive a free race for their rider.  There is no experience necessary.

Coaching and Open gate practice this Monday April 20th.
Novice/Beginner 5-6pm
Intermediate / Expert 6-7pm
Open Gate 7-8pm
Track is closed from 5 to 7pm to riders not in attendance for the coached sessions.
ALL RIDERS may attend the Open Gate Practice.

April 13th - Cancelled

Sorry Riders, tonight, April 13th coached sessions and practice are cancelled due to the poor weather.

Hopefully tomorrow improves enough for us to get in our 3rd race of the season.

April 7th Racing was a BLAST!

Thank you to all our riders and families for another stellar night of Racing. As Jaime would say WOOT WOOT!
109 Riders and 25 Half Trackers brought their 'A' game to the track to win the coveted 1 for the evening.
With several full gates of riders there was certainly no lack of challengers.
Womens cruiser was running a full rack of 8. Unfortunately Miriam went down in the second corner of the 1st moto.
We hope she is on the mend quickly and we look forward to seeing her and the family back at the track very soon.
Laurie harding took the womens'cruiser title for the night.
Our cruiser open saw young gun Chase Sherrington sprint away from the pack, followed by a hard charging Aidan MacDonald and Rory Ennis.
Violet Cejalvo left the boys behind in 13 Expert, and younger brother Diego kept the 12 Intermediates behind his back wheel.
The Knight sisters continued their domination, with younger sister Elana taking the win for 9 Expert Female and big sister Shay with 11 Expert Female. Brother Jesse Knight is no slouch either, coming in just behind Sebastian Chalmers-Owega in 9 intermediate male. Watch this class in the future. A bunch of fast up and comers.
Results have been posted.

BIG THANK YOU to all of the volunteers who stepped up last night. We couldn't have this great atmosphere without you.
Thank you to our photographers for the evening Jules Chalmer-Owega and Tony Lyons. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Next Monday, April 13th, we have coached Sessions. $5 per session or $80 for the season.
5pm to 6pm Novice / Beginner
6pm to 7pm Intermediate / Expert
7pm to 8pm Open gate Paractice for All Riders.

Only Riders signed up for the coaching sessions may be on the track during their alloted time. Track is available for all riders 7 to 8pm.

Good Luck to all the local Riders heading to the Great Northwest National in Redmond, Oregon this weekend!!
