What a Night! - August 25th recap

Double Point Track Attack race at Ridge and it didn't disappoint. 110 Full track Riders donning their bright gear and 22 half trackers mashing about.
Thank you Riders and Families for spending your Tuesday Nights in our little paradise.

We saw some fantastic action on the track, and most riders kept it rubber side down.

Big Thank You goes out to Tony Lyons for setting up and taking some fantastic photos of our riders and families.
And never to be left out, our Volunteers. You are the backbone of the club and we can't run a race without you.
Thank you for stepping in. As an added incentive to jump in, All volunteers receive a free race for their rider.

Congratulations to Jacob Gulenchyn on his move up to Intermediate.
Mains in a few classes last night with 5 and Under Novice male winner Dylan Gunn going uncontested every moto.
6 Novice male saw Seth Boyer pull off the same Feat, and not to be outdone our 9 Intermediate male main winner Jesse Knight ran the same streak.
Back on his bike and racing locally Jason Wesson kept the main winners streak running grabbing 1's in all his motos and the main. And in our Main Show of the evening Laurie Harding ran with the 1's right to the line.  Excellent racing.
Some of our younger riders were certainly putting their skills learned Monday from coaches Nate Berkheimer and Jared Ennis to use. It is such a treat to see the progression and intensity of the riders this year. They are really absorbing what they are being taught in a lighthearted, fun enevironment.

Remember to Register for the BC Cup #6 and BC Cup Finals being held here at Ridge September 12th and 13th.

August 18th Fun,

What an evening of Fun and Good Times at Ridge. It started from the moment you pulled into the grassy parking lot. Great to see so many of our friends from the other tracks over to put down some hot laps.

Seth Boyer came out victorious in the hard fought 6 Novice Male main.
Will Hutton led the charge in the 9 Intermediate Male Main.
Young gun Monroe Hutton held off a hard charging Grant Brereton-Stiles to grab the Cruiser 'A' main title, while Rob Elliot worked his magig over JP to take the 1 spot in our Crusier 'B' main.

Congratulations to Connor Brereton-Stiles on his move up to Intermediate. Connor works very hard out there and is following in big brother Dallens foot steps.

Shout-out to all of our fantastic Volunteers for jumping in and allowing us to put on another great night of racing.
Espeically the tireless volunteers who worked and prepared for a National the past weekend and yet still jumped in.
Thank you ALL.

Results and photos are loaded.

August 17th

Shaping up to be another great night of Coaching at Ridge.

Inter / Expert coaching begins at 5 until 6, then followed with the Beginner / Novice Group from 6 to 7 and Open gate from 7 to 8.

The first work party to prepare for BC Cup Finals is scheduled for Sunday August 23rd. Please come give us a hand, as many bodies make light work!

August 3rd BC Fun Day!

For August 3rd, we will do coaching and practice a little differently.

From 4:30 to 6pm we will have a Pot Luck Dinner and social atmosphere.
Bring some food and cutlery to share with your fellow riders, friends, family and coaches at the track.

At 6pm we will begin coaching, but there will be no proficiency levels for this evening. Riders will be intermixed and will learn some fun new skills on and off the track. Typical $5 per session or pre-paid card is required for the coaching.  The coaching fees play a very small part in helping to get the Elites to their events.

Bring along any bike parts or bikes and swap, trade, sell, haggle or discuss them with fellow parents and riders as well.

Hope we can see all the Ridge Meadows families out, both new and old.

July goes out with Excitement!

What a Great evening at Ridge to send off July.

We all had a Fantastic evening spent with riders, parents, grand parents and friends. Many new riders out for their first races last night and they all had HUGE smiles on their faces at the end of the evening grabbing their first trophy.

Our youngest groups and oldest groups continue to have some action packed main events.
Nate Berkheimer was out to join in the fun with the cruisers on his Spawn Dirt Jumper, and found a way OVER everyone to take the win for the night. Always great to see the determination each one of the riders puts forth to make the Main, in what can sometimes be called the clash of the titans.

Our 5 and Under Novice male winner was Dylan Gunn who edged out his buddy Connor Brereton-Stiles.
In 9 Intermediate, we had some really tight battles going down in each moto and the Main. That class is tight, but Eric Town grabbed the 1 for the night, holding off a hard pressing Gavin Baron.
Great racing boys.

Thank you all for your patience during break as we handed out cake to celebrate Sandy and Christines Birthdays. We are sure it helped many of the riders get that extra boost for their final motos.
What are the odds someone wins 50/50 in a season? 1 in 100 maybe? How about 2X in a season? Well, our 3rd corner man Rob Gjaltema has now won 3X.
With odds like this, maybe we should have him buy our lotto tickets this week.

Big Props to all of our awesome Volunteers for the night. Thank you all for stepping in and filling in the positions for us. All the positions are pretty easy and after getting over any initial fear and pairing with someone who can keep you calm and answer any questions, the tasks are enjoyable. You get to interact with many riders, see the action up close and personal. AND as an added bonus, your rider can race the evening for free.

BC Cup #6 and BC Cup Finals September 12th and 13th

That's right, Ridge Meadows BMX is hosting the Final BC Cup series race of 2015 and the BC Cup Finals September 12th and 13th here at your Track.
The BC Cup is the best 3 of 6 races and The Final to qualify for a BC Cup ranking and plate. Overall age winners grab a custom named jersey as well.

HALF TRACKERS, come on out and join us for your chance to earn medals of the day. Entry fee will be $10 per day and payable at the Moto Shed.
We will divide racers into pedals and run bike.

We will be looking for some volunteers to help us run the weekend efficiently, as well as some volunteers the weekends prior to our event to help with track maintenance.

You don't want to miss out on the excitement.
It does not matter if you have not raced the required number of races, you will still earn a medal for the day and get to try your hand racing riders from other tracks.

We want to see ALL of our Ridge Meadows BMX riders out in Full force to grab those podium spots.
